Application and Linkage Highlights

Effective knowledge exchange between researchers and decision makers is crucial for research adoption. The Application and Linkage Program provides the framework for translating new knowledge into real changes in biosecurity policy and practice.

Adoption forums

Adpotion fourms bring together researchers and end-users to encourage mutual learning through the entire process of a research project and the application of existing and/or new knowledge in decision making. Adoption forums held to date are:

  • Arbovirus Research Adoption Forums (2006 and 2008)
  • Diagnostics Research Adoption Forum
  • Henipavirus Research Adoption Forum
  • Safeguarding Australia’s livestock industries through improved biosecurity among pig producers Adoption Forum
Consultancies

We worked closely together with our partners to provide consultancies that support the AB-CRC objectives. Our current consultancies are:

  • Strengthening Animal Health Management and Biosecurity in ASEAN (SAHMBA)
  • ASEAN+3 Emerging Infectious Diseases Programme
  • The development of sustainable surveillance systems for endemic and exotic diseases in Indonesia
  • The epidemiology, pathogenesis and control of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in ducks in Indonesia and Vietnam
